Violet May (Allely) Spiller

Violet May (Allely) Spiller, 95, of Manchester, Connecticut died June 25, 2022 at Manchester Manor. She was the beloved wife of 55 of years to the late Richard Wayne Spiller, who passed away in 2011.

She was born in Manchester on August 11, 1926 and was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Manchester. She attended Manchester schools and graduated from Hartford High School.

Violet was active in the Grange and was a volunteer at hospitals in Connecticut, North Carolina, and Florida, as well as being a community theater member on Cape Cod.

She was the daughter of the late James Chambers Allely and Violet (McBurney) Allely from Belfast, Ireland. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Richard Allely of Manchester, and Ernest McBurney Allely of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She was also predeceased by niece, Marilyn St. Germain, niece Antionette Allely, nephews R. James Allely and David Allely. 

Violet was a loving and devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son, Richard Spiller, and two nieces, Susan Allely and Denise Rioux. She leaves behind many grandnieces and grandnephews. 

 A Celebration of Life will be held at Holmes Watkins Funeral home, 400 Main Street, Manchester CT, on Thursday June 30, 2022 from 10am till 11:30 followed by burial at East Cemetery located on Harrison Street, Manchester CT.
