Thomas J. Therrien, age 76, died on June 2, 2020, in Portland, Oregon. Tom was born to the late George Therrien and Dorothy (Charest) Williams on April 17, 1944 in Manchester, CT. He served in the Army from 1961-1964. After many years working in construction in Connecticut, Florida and New Orleans, he enrolled in an HVAC program at Portland Community College in Oregon and worked in Portland. He returned to New Orleans and met the Examiner’s qualifications for a First Class AC Stationary Engineer License. He and his wife returned to Portland in 2007. Tom enjoyed time with family, fishing and NYT Crossword Puzzles. He loved music and followed his son, Doug's music career where they formed many lasting friendships with other musicians along the way. Tom was kind, respectful of others and his laughter was contagious. He will be missed by family and friends.
Along with his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brothers, Richard, Norman, Frank and David, and his sisters, Dorothy Gowen and Virginia. Tom is survived by his wife, Eunice (Kauffman) Therrien; his son, Douglas of New Orleans; his daughter, Jennifer Therrien of Cheshire, CT; his sister, Christine Cosentino and her husband Tony of N. Franklin, CT; his niece, Denise Mizla and her husband Joe of Colchester, CT. He is also survived by two grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. A private service will be held at a later date.
