Theresa R Lachmund

Theresa Lamore Richardson Lachmund of Manchester, CT, age 96, Died at home on Friday, May 13th, 2022.  Born in Van Buren , Maine the daughter of Dolphus Lamore and Ouida (Cyr) Lamore. 
Theresa came to Hartford at age 18 and worked at The Institute of Living in the kitchen. She worked at Hartford Hospital after the birth of her children, Verplanck School cafeteria in the 1960’s, as a school bus driver, and later after her marriage to Roy, as a crossing guard in West Hartford.  She came from a large family of 11 children who survived to adulthood of 14 born.  And was the last surviving sibling/in-law in her family.  She was a child of the depression and WWII.  
Terry, as she was know to those that loved her, had been a member of The Church of Assumption who sang for a few years in their choir.   She enjoyed square dancing and was a member of several local clubs and a square dance caller who volunteered at area nursing homes. She was a member of the West Hartford Senior Center and volunteered as a setback game organizer. 
Her greatest joy was her family. Many holidays and gatherings were held at her home over the years.  She was an amateur photographer who was never without a camera. Terry loved attending local theater productions, dance recitals, and ball games that the family’s children participated in over the years. 

Terry was twice a widow, first of Donald E. Richardson and eventually, Roy H. Lachmund. She was also preceded in death by her son Wayne E. Richardson. 
She is survived by daughter Donna R. Mercier of Manchester, CT with whom she made her home the last 22 years; step-son Scott Lachmund, Lee Lachmund, Cindy Kennedy, and Lori Pagani; grandchildren Robert Y. Mercier II, Rebecca Duval , Donald Mercier, Kimberly Brockey, Christopher Richardson, Amanda Drake, and Andrew Richardson Step-grandchildren Michael Kennedy, Keith Kennedy, Valerie Sink and Bryan Kennedy;  20 great-grandchildren ranging in age from 20 to 1, as well as a great many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 4-6:00PM on Wednesday May 18th 2022 at Holmes Watkins Funeral Home 400 Main St. Manchester, CT. 
Funeral Service will be held  at 11:00AM on  Thursday, May 19th 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at East Cemetery in Manchester. Arrangements have been entrusted to Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home.
