Ronald J. Theriault, 79, of Manchester, CT, the beloved husband of the late Sharon L. Theriault, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford, CT, February 11, 1942, he was the son of the late Joseph and Irene Theriault. He grew up in Wethersfield, CT and graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1960. He served as a member of the United States Navy where he was stationed in Barbados and Grand Turks monitoring Soviet submarines during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Ronald worked at Wiremold (now Legrand) in West Hartford until his retirement.
Ronald was known as a kind and caring man and spent many of his retired years volunteering for various organizations. He has volunteered at the Lutz Children's Museum providing building maintenance and setting up exhibits. He was a member of the Manchester Police Citizen Volunteer Corps. He was also on the crew of several public access television shows at Cox Communications. Ronald shared his wife Sharon's love of animals and they worked together with her nonprofit Critters in Crisis to rescue and rehabilitate wild animals.
He leaves behind his step-children Todd and Brett Shanaman; his son Jason Theriault, his brother Robert (Diane) Theriault, his sister Linda (Michael) Blase, his nieces and nephews David Theriault, Kristen (Theriault) Shaw, Karen (Blase) Dohren, Ross Lockwood, and Tabitha (Lockwood) Hanneman.
