Robert W. Ferguson

Robert Warren Ferguson, (Bob), 96 of Vernon, CT passed away on July 14, 2023. Bob was born on August 30th, 1926 to the late Viola and Sherwood Ferguson. He graduated high school after his junior year and joined the United States Navy at the age of 18. He was honorably discharged at the end of his tour and was awarded with the National Defense Medal along with the “Ruptured Duck” for serving his country in a time of crisis. He attended college at the University of Virginia and Montgomery College in Maryland where he received his degree in electrical engineering. During this time, he met and married his loving wife, Geraldine. They moved to Vernon, CT where they raised their 6 children. Bob was a member of St. Johns Church in Vernon, CT as well as a brother at the Manchester Masonic Lodge #73. 

Bob was a kind soul, an amazing son, husband, father, grandfather (Poppy), great grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed by all that had the blessing of having him in their lives. Bob was predeceased by his wife Geraldine and their first-born son Ronald, as well as his brother Sherwood. He leaves behind his five children, Sandra Evangelista, Deborah Lanier and her husband Michael, Robert Ferguson Jr and his wife Belle, Holly Fox and her husband James, David Ferguson and his wife Anne, and his daughter-in-law Beth Ferguson. He also leaves behind his 8 grandchildren, Anthony, Michael, Jessica, Christine, David, Michele, Jeffrey and Ethan, and his great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Janiyah, Shane, Austin and Carter.
