Rita T. (Husarik) Tsokalas

With great sorrow, we share the news of Rita Tsokalas' passing at 93 in her home in Wethersfield. Rita was a devoted and loving spouse to her late husband, Leo Tsokalas, who was the love of her life. They shared 60 beautiful years of marriage. 

Rita was a cherished mother to her five children, Elaine, Christopher, John, Nicholas, and Mary, along with their spouses, Ben, Lee, Rebecca, and Peter. She also leaves nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

Rita Husarik was born in Clifton, New Jersey, on August 17, 1929. Her parents were Frank and Anna Husarik. Unfortunately, her brother Francis passed away before her. After graduating from Manchester High School in 1947, Rita worked for Hamilton Standard and Pioneer Parachute during World War II. Later, she pursued a career in nursing and earned her RN degree from Hartford Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. Rita dedicated her entire career to Hartford Hospital until she retired in 1993.

Rita was an extraordinary woman with an unshakable faith dedicated to her family. She and her dear husband, Leo, taught their children the significance of family ties and supporting one another.

Rita's memory lives on as a cherished member of Saint James Church and the Little Flower of Jesus Mother circle. Her embodiment of compassion and kindness continues to inspire us all. Though she may no longer be with us, we find comfort in believing she has been reunited with her loved ones in the afterlife. Let us honor her legacy as a shining example of love and commitment.

Our Mother's teachings of love, sacrifice, and doing what is right guide us daily, reminding us of the importance of living a life of purpose and meaning.

The Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, located at 400 Main Street in Manchester, CT, will host the calling hours for our beloved Mother. You are cordially invited to attend on Monday, June 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, June 27, at 10:00 AM, at the Saint James Church, 896 Main Street in Manchester, CT. We hope you can join us in honoring her memory.
