Quentin C. Grant, 84, of Coventry died on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born to Richard F. Grant and Althea E. (Littlefield) Grant on August 19, 1938 in Fort Fairfield, Maine. The family moved to Connecticut in 1940. Quent is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nancy (Rhines) Grant, daughters Cathy Grant of Pomfret and Laurie (Grant) Adams and his much loved son-in-law Michael Adams of Tolland, along with his grandchildren Ashley Adams of Huntington Beach, CA and Zachary Adams of Tolland; his sister Nancy Grant of Colchester, nieces Janet (Starkweather) Soboleski (Kevin), Brenda (Starkweather) Timmer (Robin) and nephew David Starkweather ; as well as Quent’s childhood friend of 80+ years, Roland Daigle of Hebron.
Quent was a 32nd degree Mason and over the years played his bagpipes with the Sphinx Temple Highlanders. He was a member of the Shriner’s Motor Patrol and the small cars that are often seen in local parades. He was a member of the Fin, Fur & Feather in Chaplin where he enjoyed shooting skeet. He loved meeting his buddies for coffee every Friday morning.
Funeral services will be at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester, CT on Saturday, July 22, 2023, 11:00 am-1:00 pm with burial to follow at Wapping Cemetery, 50 Oakland Rd, South Windsor.
