Natalie Ann (Carpenter) Moseley, beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away at home on February 14, 2022 at the age of 93. She was born in Marlboro, MA on April 18, 1928, to Catherine and Frank Carpenter. She was one of 6 children. Her family moved to Glastonbury, CT then to Manchester, CT where she graduated from Manchester High School. Natalie attended UConn, then married Everett “Sam” Moseley on Nov. 22, 1947. They were married for 48 years. They had 5 children.
Natalie was full of life and was known for her quick wit. Part of a musical family, she played coronet in the family band, recording a record in the 1930’s. She shared her love of music, dance and culture with her children and grandchildren. A self-professed tomboy, she loved camping, hiking, canoeing, letterboxing and orienteering. Her love of adventure and nature took her to 13 countries, many states and National Parks, and she loved “getting lost” down unexplored roads. She loved puzzles and playing games with family, her intelligence and verbal acuity evident in her mastery of scrabble and crosswords. Natalie loved children and was the go-to babysitter for many. She was a devout, active Jehovah’s Witness and often shared her love through her specialties of quick breads, lasagna and taco soup. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and doing needlework projects. Her work life included Pratt and Whitney, bookkeeping for Carla’s Pasta, The Train Exchange and the Manchester Water Company. She volunteered as a tower watcher for foreign aircraft for the Civil Air Patrol, and was a Girl Scout Leader.
Natalie was predeceased by her husband Sam, her parents, her infant son Christopher, and her brothers, Bryce and Don. Natalie leaves her sister, Virginia Bissell, her brother Bill Carpenter and her sister Sandy and her husband, Denny Dotson.
She leaves her son, David and his wife Meredith, her daughters, Jan Muro and her husband Tony, Kathy with whom she lived, and Suzanne Faucher and her husband George. She also leaves her grandchildren Kim and Warren Boulette and their children, Nathan and Kelsey, Dacia and Paul Marszalek and their children Ryan and David, Anthony Muro III, James and Tovah Bodner Muro and their children, Ethan and Josephina, Aaron Faucher and his fiancée Lan Nguyen, Jenna Faucher, and John Michael Rourke. Natalie is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank long time family friend Mary Squillacote, for the blessing of her loving care for our mother.
Family and friends are invited to greet the family at 10:00 am, with a memorial service following at 11:00 am, on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, CT. A reception will follow.
