Nancy S. Joyce

Nancy S Joyce (Sheldon), 82, of Tolland, CT, wife of David Joyce, passed away on June 2, 2023 at Manchester Memorial Hospital.   She was born on December 24, 1940 in Manchester, CT to the late James Sheldon and Vivian (Heise) Sheldon.   

She graduated from Manchester High School Class of 1958. Nancy resided in Manchester, CT where she met her husband of 64 years.  Nancy took pride in her family.  She was an exceptional homemaker and known for her artistic abilities, including sewing her children’s clothes, home decor, knitting  and crocheting.  She was an avid bowler, and enjoyed working alongside her close friend, Helen Kelling, at the State House Gift Shop in Hartford, CT.  Nancy enjoyed spending her summers with her family at Giant’s Neck Beach in Niantic, CT.

Nancy was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  In addition to her husband David, Nancy will be dearly missed by her daughters Kimberly Gottier and Sharon Fitzgerald (Allen), her loving grandchildren Nicholas (Heather), Lincoln (Emily), Calvin (Jaclyn) Gottier; Lucas (Heather Gianfriddo), Colby Scotta, and Ryan (Casey) Fitzgerald; five great-grandchildren; her sister Donna (Richard) Haack; and her sister-in-law Susan (Joyce) Quinn.

She is predeceased by her son-in-law Douglas Gottier, her sister-in-law Diane Seidenspinner, and her best friend of many years Helen Kelling.

A Celebration of Life will be Friday, June 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM, at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester CT.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to: United Congregational Church, P.O.
