Marlene Fournier, 81, of Manchester passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, October 1, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital. Marlene was born on May 15, 1940 in Caribou, Maine to the late Joseph and Willa Gagnon (née McLaughlin.) along with her siblings Joyce, Wilma, Charlene, Frances, and Freddy. With her loving husband Raymond Fournier she had four children, Rodney, Ricky, Randy, and Lisa.
Marlene graduated from Caribou Highschool. She was employed as a member of the assembly team with the Empire Tool and Die Company from which she retired from December 31, 2004.
Marlene loved to knit and crochet. She always looked forward to her Tuesday night Bingo. There were always puzzles being made on her card table. She also loved to track people on Facebook, watch her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow. She was a world class baker and cook. She was always up for a trip to the casino and a few scratch tickets. Marlene was also passionate about scrapbooking as well as her faith and was a devout member of St. Bridget’s Church.
Marlene is predeceased by her husband Raymond, sister Frances Belanger, and her daughter in law Kimberly Adams.
Marlene is survived by her children, Ricky and Christine Fournier, Rodney and Doreen Fournier, Randy Fournier and Tracy Mitchell Farmers, and Lisa Fournier and Chrissy Seredy. As well as her grandchildren, Stacy Reed, Katie and Jason Canfield, Drew Fournier, and Morgan Fournier. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren Russel and Kimberly Reed.
Calling hours will be held at Manchester Funeral Home, 142 E. Center Street, Manchester CT., Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bridget's Church, 80 Main St., Manchester, CT at 1:00 pm Friday, October 8, 2021 with burial to follow at St. James Cemetery, 360 Broad Street in Manchester.
