Marilyn M. (McClelland) Moonan

Marilyn McClelland Moonan, 87, of Bolton, CT, passed away on December 15, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born in Manchester, CT on August 18, 1934, daughter of the late William F. and Phoebe “Irons” McClelland. She was the wife of the late Russell T. Moonan. 
Marilyn leaves behind two daughters, Linda Moonan of Bolton and Kathy Moonan-Wartman and her husband Jeffery D. Wartman M.D.; as well as her beloved grandson Derrek T. Kroc of Westfield, MA; as well as several nieces and nephews. Marilyn also was blessed by having many lifelong friends and neighbors during her residency in Bolton.
She is predeceased by her three sisters, Barbara McClelland, Pricella Lancaster and Faith McGugan; and her brother John McClelland. 
Marilyn graduated from Manchester High School in 1952. She was employed for 25 years at Pratt & Whitney/United Technologies.  Later, Marilyn became the tax collector for the town of Bolton serving for two years and served on the Bolton Planning & Zoning Board of Appeals for four years. 
She was a member of the South United Methodist Church and the Bolton Senior Center. Marilyn enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens, birding and making may trips to Florida and Cape Cod. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and dependable friend. 
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Dr. Hazar Dahhan of Manchester for many years of excellent care. 
Marilyn’s daughters Linda and Kathy, and grandson Derrek would like to especially thank Bill McGugan, Marilyn’s nephew, for the spiritual support, devotion and visitation he gave to our mother.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 10-11:00AM at South United Methodist Church, located at 1226 Main St. Manchester, CT. Funeral service will follow at 11:00AM. Masks are required. Burial will be at East Cemetery.
