Margaret "Peggy" Zych Obituary

Margaret “Peggy” Zych, 92, of Manchester, passed away peacefully at home on January 25, 2023 after a long battle with dementia. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 5, 1930 to the late Howard Horner and Margaret (Woods) Best. Peggy moved to Manchester when she was young, graduating from Manchester High School in 1948.

After graduation, she worked for the phone company and at restaurants, including Charcoal Broiler, Brass Key, and La Strada.  She was employed as a food management supervisor at Aetna from 1975 until her retirement in 1993.

Peggy will be remembered for the countless hours she spent working and spending time with her family. She loved taking care of her beautiful yard and flowers. Peggy also enjoyed stopping for lobster rolls and sundaes from the 99, soup and salad from Olive Garden, and Whopper Jrs. from Burger King.

She is survived and will be dearly missed by her two children, Patricia Liebman of Coventry and Kathleen (Ralph) Wentworth of Colchester. Peggy also leaves behind grandchildren Jamie Mattei of Bolton, Jennifer Beland (Benjamin) of Beacon Falls, and Adam Wentworth (Yalan Sun) of Rochester, MN; great grandchildren Matthew, Denver, Evan, Sarah, Christopher; sister Dorothy Kohler of Manchester and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her husband Felix Zych, previous husband Lawrence Brogan, son-in-law Roger Liebman, and grandson Douglas Luongo Jr.

Special thanks to her many caregivers, especially Keeshawn and Veronika.
