Margaret (Trueman) Edwards, “Peg”, 80, widow of William Warner Edwards III, entered into eternal rest on January 18, 2022 surrounded by her loving daughters.
Peg was born September 25, 1941 in Manchester, CT to the late George and Margaret (Gordon) Trueman. Peg grew up in Manchester, CT and then moved to Coventry where she raised her family. Peg worked in the Coventry School system for many years before changing careers to banking, where she worked until her retirement.
She leaves behind her three children: Jodi Stone and her husband Charles with whom she resided in Vernon, CT; Sheena L. Edwards of Manchester, CT; Laura M. Kelly of Littleton, NH; as well as her brother, George J. Trueman of Dixmont, ME.
Of the many hats Peg wore, her most cherished one was Grandmother to her beloved grandchildren, Lynn Carrabino, Lisa Sturdevant and her husband Stephen, Katherine Stone and her husband Richard, Andrew Stevenson and his wife Katy, Kyle Stevenson, and her youngest granddaughter, Taylor Edwards, as well as her great-grandchildren, Liam, Logan, Lilly, Jenna, Jack, Jeter, Willa and Milly. She also leaves behind three friends of 60+ years, Marilyn Bassos, Mabel Plecity and Gemma Marquis, as well as a treasured friend, Cathy McCormick.
Peg’s superpower (besides her ability to take all the curve balls life threw at her) was her kind heart, (although Kyle would debate it was her apple crisp.) She helped anyone who asked, helping more people than we could ever name. She will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Yale New Haven Hospital. Specifically Dr. Shelby Rosario and Nurse Ben of the ICU Department for the amazing and compassionate care and support provided to us and our loved one.
A private funeral service will be held Friday, January 21, 2022 at 11 am. Those wishing to view the live stream of the service or leave messages of condolence may do so at holmeswatkins.com
