Katherine “Kay” Anne Lindeman passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 18, 2023. She was born in Springfield, MA on November 14, 1928, and was the daughter of the late George and Dorothy Lindeman. Kay spent the majority of her life in East Hartford, CT, graduating from East Hartford High School in 1946. She worked at the American Eagle Federal Credit Union for 45 years, retiring as Assistant Comptroller.
Kay had a zest for life and enormous love for her family and friends. Many of those friends she met through her passion for the game of golf. She was a member of Skungamaug River Golf Club, winning the club championship in 1981. She was a member of Southern New England Women’s Golf Association, serving as president from 1981 -1982. She also served on the CT State Women’s Amateur Golf Association as president and tournament chairperson. She was most recently a member of Blackledge Country Club in Hebron. Not one to limit her activities, she was also a member of the East Hartford South End Senior Citizen’s Club, serving as treasurer. For 20 Yeast, she danced with Grossi Senioritis at the Grossi Dance Academy. And she could knit sweaters, blankets, hats and afghans like nobody’s business.
Kay is survived by her sister Barbara and brother-in-law Bill Wilson, her nieces, Janet Lowell and her husband, David, Joanne St. Martin and her husband Jeff, Susan Williams and her husband Guy, Nancy Cormier and her husband Joe and her nephew David Fuller and his wife Kim. She is also survived by 14 Great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Loris Fuller and her nephew, Mark Fuller.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at East Cemetery, Manchester, CT at 11am with a repass immediately following, where friends and family are invited to share their favorite memories of Kay.
