Frederick Y. Bentley Jr., (papa) 82 of Vernon passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. Fred was born in Stafford, CT on November 2, 1938 to the late Frederick Y. Bentley, Sr. and Doris Bentley. Fred lived in Vernon for over 30 years, Fred enjoyed the beautiful outdoors and had a keen eye for nature, most of all he enjoyed fishing, and spending quality time with his family and friends. Fred served for our country in the Korean war in the navy from 1955-1961. Fred is predeceased by his lovely wife of over 40 years Dorothy Bentley, Fred is also predeceased by his loving son Edward Hart Jr. and his loving grandson Justin Hart as well as his sister Dorothy (Dottie) Bentley. Frederick is survived by two of his siblings, Arthur (Marilyn) Bentley and Grace Johnson. Fred is also survived by his loving blended family, Steven Bentley of Vernon, Lorry (Charles) Beltram of Fort Worth, TX Sharon Bentley of Meriden, CT, Robert (Beth) Bentley of Rockland, Maine, Judith (Steve) Pomerleau of Woodstock, CT, James (Billie) Hart of South Carolina, Paul (Marlena) Hart of Stafford, CT, Roger (Amy) Hart of Yoe, PA, Kimberly Hart-Laird of Spring, TX. Fred will also be greatly missed by the many nieces, nephews, grandkids and great grandchildren whom he cherished greatly. Fred will also be greatly missed by his best friend for over 40 years Charles Beeler and his family. The last 2 1/2 years Fred had a wonderful friend and caregiver Joanie Secore who he had a special bond with, and she will forever cherish all the memories they created. The family will have a celebration of life for Fred at a later date.
