Frank Joseph Cimino, 87 of Manchester, CT a loving and gentle soul, graced the world with his presence on August 9, 1935, in Middletown, Connecticut. He embarked on a remarkable journey of love, wisdom, and compassion that touched the lives of countless individuals until his peaceful passing on June 5, 2023, in Hartford, Connecticut.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Salvatore and Rose ( Garafalo ) Cimino; sister, Josephine DeRita and her husband Tony. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly ( Guiliano ) Cimino, who stood by his side throughout their journey of 64 years together. He was a devoted father to his sons, Mark J. and his wife Lisa and their two children Jenna and Lauren, Christopher J. and his wife Marilyn and their children Jesse and Gage; his daughter, Francine J. Karp and her fiancé Rick Bellavance. In addition to his immediate family, Frank leaves behind his nephews Paul Montinieri and Peter DeRita, and nieces Grace Amadeo and Marisa Montinieri. He shared special relationships with each of them, creating lasting memories and bonds that will endure.
Frank graduated from Buckly High School in 1954 and went off to serve as a Military Police officer for 27 months from 1954 till 1957 in the United States Army during the Korean War stationed at Ft. Greely Alaska, demonstrating his commitment and bravery in defending our nation. After the War his pursuit of knowledge and passion for helping others led him to graduate from Fairfield University in 1962 and in 1964 obtain his Master's Degree in Psychology from the prestigious Boston College School of Social Work. With an unwavering determination to make a difference in the lives of those around him, Frank dedicated 35 years of his life as a social worker for the East Hartford School System. His profound impact on the lives of the students and families he served is a testament to his selflessness and dedication to uplifting others.
Calling hours for Frank Joseph Cimino will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home 400 Main St. Manchester, CT. A funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Church, located at 80 Hayes Rd. in South Windsor, CT. Following the mass, burial service with Military Honors will be held at St. Bridget Cemetery in Manchester, CT.
