Eugene W. (Geno) Healy of Manchester, CT, husband of the late Patricia (Armstrong) Healy, died Monday, February 2, 2021, at his home after a long illness. He was born July 4, 1932 in Hartford, Connecticut, son of the late Eugene V. and Leona (Riley) Healy. A proud Marine, and veteran of the Korean War, Gene was employed for many years by Smith Brothers Insurance. He was a long-time member of St. Bridget’s Parish where he served in many roles: as a Eucharistic Minister, CCD teacher, Boy Scout Leader, and on the Parish Council. A life-long Red Sox fan, Gene loved big band music and delighted in making friends with everyone who crossed his path. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Ann Healy and her wife, Melissa; his grandson, Christopher Shupe all of Manchester, a niece, Nancy (Condon) Carroll of Florida; and a nephew, John Condon of Maine. Due to the COVID pandemic there will be no formal services or calling hours. The family will plan a celebration of his life at a later date. Gene was famous for filling every donation envelope he received. In lieu of flowers, please honor his giving spirit with a donation to any charity that holds meaning for you.
