Elvira "Vera" Pesce

Elvira (Vera). Pesce, 96, of Manchester and formerly of Coventry, died Saturday, June 6, 2022, at home surrounded by family. She was born on September 22, 1925, in Coventry, the daughter of the late Armando and Emilia (Peracchio) Pesce, and had been a resident of Manchester since 1962.
 
Vera was a 1943 graduate of Manchester High School, she attended St. James Church in Manchester and had been active at the Manchester Senior Citizen's Center. Prior to her retirement, she had worked at Western Union as Lead Accountant for many years. She is predeceased by three sisters, Ottavia M. Storrs and Josephine M. Hicking, both of Coventry, Alba L. Pesce of Manchester; and her brother, Michael J. Pesce of Vernon. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 21, 10 a.m., at St. James Church, 896 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Route 31 Coventry. Visitation will be Monday, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
