Edward F. Durian, 89, of Columbia, CT passed away on December 16, 2020 at the Crestfield Rehabilitation Center in Manchester, CT after a short illness. Born in Bronx, NY on May 31, 1931, he was the son of the late Frank Dunst and Jennie Dunst (Tempefli).
Edward and his family moved to Hampton, CT when he was a very young man. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a fisherman and hunter. After he graduated UConn he served in the Army and left as a 1st Lieutenant. He was an engineer at Electric Boat in Groton, CT and also worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Washington State. Edward married Diana Parparian in 1965 and they were married until her passing in 1984. They resided in CT and later in Washington State. Upon retiring, Edward moved back to CT and lived in Columbia since 1993.
Edward is survived by his brother-in-law Donald Paparian and his partner, Gail Donavan; and brother-in-law David Paparian and his wife Roseann. He is also survived by cousins Frank and Janet Knight of Washington, Paul and Karen Travers of Pennsylvania, Todd and Gail Debarth from New Jersey, and Linda Debarth of Pennsylvania.
