Dawn L. Black, 87, of Manchester, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Born on November 1, 1934 to John W. and Jean (Freeman) Lenentine, she also has one sister, Mavis Lenentine. Dawn is predeceased by her two brothers Ervin and Frank Lenentine.
Dawn found the love of her life in her husband, Lester G. Black whom she married in August 1955. Together they had three children, one son, David (Linda) Black as well as two daughters, Diane (Regan) Clancy and Debra (Gary) Plank. Dawn is survived by her grandchildren, Katelyn (Matthew) Wilson, Matthew (Andreia) Clancy, Kevin (Kaitlyn) Clancy, Michael (Amber) Clancy, Kelly (R.C.) Richardello, Kristina Black, Joseph Plank, Justin Plank, and Jessica Plank. She was also blessed with seven great grandchildren. Dawn also leave’s two sister in law’s Marge Lenentine and Pat Lenentine.
Dawn was an extremely active member of our community. She was a member of the Manchester Gardening Club, Historical Society, and even Square Dancing Club! She also stayed engaged through Campmates, the Salvation Army Prime Timers, the Arbors Bellringers, and her membership at Trinity Covenant Church. Dawn loved the Boston Red Sox and UConn women's Basketball.
Calling hours will be at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, CT from 10:00 a.m to 11:30 a.m. A short service will follow before departure for burial at Hillstown Road Veterans Cemetery, 180 Hillstown Road, Manchester.
