Daniel Ridzon Obituary

Daniel Joseph Ridzon, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully of natural causes on March 30, 2024, at the age of 89 in Coventry, CT. Daniel, affectionately known by those close to him as just Pop, was born on August 27, 1934, in Tolland, CT at Hillview Farm, and has been a beacon of warmth and wisdom throughout his life.

Daniel's journey began as a son of Tolland, where his early years were marked by a deep appreciation for the community and the natural beauty of Connecticut.  Daniel enjoyed his work for the State of Connecticut for over 25 years.  His love for RV traveling, farming, fishing, and hunting was only surpassed by the love he had for his family. In marrying Patricia Ridzon (Affricano), Daniel found his lifelong partner and together they built a foundation of love and support that extended to their children, Debra Reichert (William) and Danielle Farrands (Gregg Hoar), and into the lives of their adored grandchildren William Reichert (Leslie), Jessie Fraser (Steven), Casey Marissa Farrands (Thomas Berwick), Justin Farrands (Andrea), Kevin Farrands (Katya Gayda), and great-grandchildren Ethan, Zachary, Peyton, Owen, Kyle, Nolan, and Connor.  Daniel has many nieces and nephews, and special extended family.  Daniel is predeceased by his parents, and eight brothers and sisters.

Throughout his life, Daniel's presence was a comforting constant.  Whether it was a quiet afternoon or a lively family gathering, Daniel's happiest moments were those surrounded by his loved ones. His gentle guidance, infectious laughter, and the stories he shared will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of his family.

A man of integrity and kindness, Daniel's impact extended beyond the walls of his home.  Daniel was a devoted parishioner of The Church of St Maurice in Bolton, CT.  He was a proud member of Coventry Grange #75 for 50 years.  His legacy is one of unwavering love, compassion, and the gentle strength that stood as the cornerstone of his character.

Daniel leaves behind a family that is grateful for every moment shared with him. His life was a testament to the enduring power of love and the importance of family. As we bid farewell to Daniel Joseph Ridzon, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we were granted with such an extraordinary man.  Daniel's memory will live on, not just in the stories and laughter he leaves behind, but in the very essence of his family, who will continue to honor his legacy every day.  Daniel's family wish to extend a special heart-felt thank you to his loving daughter Danielle Farrands, and Vanessa Ferrer for the wonderful care they delivered to him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 10 to 11:30 AM.  A funeral service will commence at 11:30 AM, followed by burial at St. James Cemetery, Manchester, CT.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by Holmes Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, CT.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Daniel's name to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
