Constance Brewer Obituary

Constance Anne Brewer (Connie,) 89, of South Windsor passed away on October 21, 2021. She was born in Fall River, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Thurston) Crowther. She grew up in Little Compton, Rhode Island and graduated high school there. Connie was a hardworking lady who spent many years as a homemaker before going on to work in insurance offices and then took a Liaison position at JCPenny for many years. Upon retirement from JCPenny, she wanted to do more and went to work as a nanny and after that, she worked at daycare centers in Connecticut and North Carolina.

She was an active member of Trinity Covenant Church in Manchester for many years where she served on boards and committees. She enjoyed Bible studies, singing in the annual Christmas Cantata, and baking, cooking and crafting for the annual church fair in the fall.

She enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters in South Windsor before relocating to North Carolina for about fifteen years to enjoy her three grandsons and third granddaughter.

Her family and friends will always remember her for her impeccable style and her love for shoes.

She loved the Lord Jesus and often shared her faith in God with others.

Connie served our country in her late teens and early twenties as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps.

She is survived by daughters Helen Cameron of South Windsor, Barbara O’Neill and her husband Al of North Carolina, Oveta Thomas and her husband Charles of Tennessee, son Philip Marsh of South Windsor, and her daughter-in-law Merri Marsh of Winsted. Granddaughters Jessica Oliver and her husband Grady of Vernon, Caitlin Cameron and her fiancé Sean of Vernon, and Shanna O’Neill of North Carolina. Grandsons Aidan, Garrett and Nolan O’Neill of North Carolina, and great granddaughter Madison of Vernon. She also leaves behind her sister Valerie Turcotte and her husband Roger of Rhode Island. As well as nephews, nieces and friends of the family, many of whom were like family to her.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert M. Brewer, her son Charles (Skip) Marsh of Winsted, and her brother Harold (Sonny) Crowther.

The family would like to thank the Visiting Nurse & Health Services in Vernon and Dr. Michael Reale and his staff at the DeQuattro Cancer Center in Manchester.

A private service and burial will be held at East Cemetery in Manchester and a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
