Connie Shorrock Obituary

Connie Wells Shorrock passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024, at the age of 74 in Wallingford, Connecticut. Born on May 30, 1949, in Manchester, Connecticut, Connie's warmth and vibrant spirit were a gift to all who knew her.

A lifelong resident of Connecticut, Connie was a proud alumna of Manchester High School. Her dedication to her community was evident through her longstanding career at Aetna Insurance Company and her compassionate service as a Home Health Aide with the Visiting Nurses of Vernon, CT.

Connie's unwavering commitment to helping others shone brightly through her volunteer work with hospice, where she provided comfort and care to those in their final stages of life. Connie's leadership and charitable spirit were further exemplified in her role as Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star of Manchester, CT. Her involvement with the organization was not just an expression of her interests, but also a testament to her desire to make a difference and build lasting friendships.

Family was the cornerstone of Connie's life. She was a treasured sister to Amy Gove and Steve and his wife Melanie. Her role as an aunt was one she cherished deeply, showering love and attention upon her niece Kathryn Churchill and her daughter Addison, as well as her niece Melissa, her husband Andrew Tryon, and their children Anna, Sarah, Rachel, and Joshua. Connie's presence will also be profoundly missed by her extended family, including Michael and Nancy O'Connell, Steve and Meghan Root, Niklas and Caitlin Abbing, and her dear friend Annedda Stiller, all of whom were blessed to be part of her life.

Connie's passion for traveling allowed her to explore and create memories around the world. Her adventurous spirit and love for new experiences were infectious, inspiring those around her to seek joy and adventure in their own lives.

As we remember Connie, we celebrate a life marked by generosity, kindness, and a deep love for her family and community. Her legacy of service, leadership, and the joy she found in her many interests will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her presence. Connie's life will be honored in a manner that reflects the richness of the relationships she nurtured and the lives she touched. Her memory will live on not only in the hearts of her family and friends but also through the countless lives she impacted through her work and volunteerism. In her passing, Connie leaves behind a tapestry of love and service that will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her. Her laughter, her wisdom, and her unwavering support will be deeply missed, but the light she brought into this world will continue to shine in the memories we hold dear. As we bid farewell to Connie Wells Shorrock, we do so with gratitude for the time we shared with her and the lessons she taught us. May her journey onward be as peaceful and loving as the life she led among us.

Her spirit, a beacon of love and hope, will forever guide us in our own paths, reminding us of the beauty of a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Connie's memory to the Masonicare Hospice Care, 22 Masonic Avenue, Wallingford, CT 06492.
