Carol (Sabalewski) Eddy

Carol Sabalewski Eddy passed gracefully into the arms of her Lord Jesus on October 4th, 2023, with her children near her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband John Randall Eddy.  Carol was born in December 1919 to Gregory and Zuzanna Sabalewski, who had immigrated from Poland. She grew up on the family farm in Claremont, New Hampshire.

John and Carol raised their six children in Manchester, CT where John had his medical practice. They were proud parents to their twin sons David and Garth, daughter Nancy, twins Bill and Laura, and daughter Martha.

Mom was an avid gardener and birdwatcher who passed her love of nature to her family. She had an appreciation for all of God’s creation and could see a little bit of color in a bleak November day. And she saw the goodness in people, not their flaws. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time in the family room with loved ones watching the birds in the backyard and conversing over afternoon tea. 

Carol is survived by son David Eddy and his wife Elizabeth, and their children Sarah, Derek, and Carol; son Garth Eddy; daughter Nancy Brown Robbins and her husband Joel, and Nancy’s children Michael, Jonathan, and Katherine; son William Eddy; daughter Laura Eddy Rival and her husband Dale; daughter Martha Eddy; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by Garth's wife Susan, Nancy's husband Terry Brown and granddaughter Elizabeth Kaye Brown. Carol was also predeceased by her sisters Mildred “Terrie” Jacobs, Mary "Penny" Wolcott, and Ann Centariczki and brother Frank Sabalewski.  

A memorial service celebrating the lives of John Randall Eddy and his beloved wife Carol (Sabalewski) Eddy will be held on Friday December 8th at Church of the Living God located at 199 Deming Street, Manchester, CT 06042.  Family will receive guests at 10 a.m. with the service beginning at 11 a.m.
