Brian D. Locke of Manchester, CT passed away on March 18, 2023 at home with his wife, Lynn Pemberton-Locke, by his side, after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). He was born in Manchester, CT on January 9, 1966. Before his illness, he had 35 years of service with the Hartford Crowne Plaza maintenance team. Brian was an avid fisherman, Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and looked forward to weekly games of fast track with friends. He enjoyed camping and a fire pit surrounded by friends and family. Brian was always willing to help whether to move an appliance, replace truck brakes, or build a new deck. Brian was an animal whisperer and loved his pets Beau, Boots, Kiwi and Spike. His grandchildren were bright lights to him even as his illness progressed. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him.
Besides his wife, Lynn, he is survived by his mother, Arlene Peterson, his stepson Ryan Pemberton, stepdaughter Sarah Pemberton Chambers and husband Andrew and his grandchildren Lillian and Tobias, his siblings Richard (Robin) Locke, Susan (Bruce) Gross, John (Diem) Locke, Kevin (Marge) Locke, Karen White and her partner, Mike, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Henry Locke, and stepfather, Carl “Pete” Peterson.
Lynn would like to express special thanks to the VNA of Vernon, Hospice, and all of her “angel” helpers.
