We are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Barbara Eleanor Sentivany, 88, of Manchester, on December 18, 2023. She was born on June 4, 1935, in Manchester to the late Myrtle and David Walter Armstrong and had two brothers, Walter and Earl, and one sister, Virginia. She was the beloved wife of the late Warren Sentivany and they were married 61 years and happily resided in Manchester. She worked for Connecticut Bank and Trust of Manchester and later for Manchester Honda.
Barbara enjoyed sewing and knitting along with being a fantastic baker. Holiday cookies and apple pie being family favorites. She raised beautiful African violets and was a UConn women’s basketball and NASCAR fan. She loved her cats with Garfield being a favorite. Barbara and Warren enjoyed vacations with their close friends Sonny and Sandy Dailey and they had many fun adventures. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Warren, brothers Walter Armstrong and Earl Armstrong, sister Ginny Roberts and her best friend and niece, Diane Lee. Barbara will be lovingly missed by her son Karl Sentivany and his wife Janice of Coventry, her daughter Lynn Sentivany of North Carolina, her son-in-law Mike Page of Manchester, her most adored and favorite granddaughter Shannon Sapita of Manchester and great grandchild Shyianne Jones and Jai-Zon Smith of Manchester, and her grandson Michael Page of Manchester. She also leaves behind many wonderful nieces and nephews and her cat Squeaks.
We would like to thank Dr. Wan of New England Cardiology for his care and compassion.
All are welcome to join the family and attend a Memorial Service at Holmes Watkins Funeral Home, located at 400 Main Street, Manchester CT 06040 from 4pm till 6pm on Wednesday, January 3rd 2024.
