The angelic choir in heaven warmly and joyously welcomed its newest member, Anna Louise Secchiaroli, on September 11, 2022 at the age of 90. Anna was born on September 30, 1931 in New Haven Connecticut. She was the second of three devoted girls born to the late Giovanni and Enrica (Lepri) Broccoli. After graduating from West Haven High School, Anna married her high school sweetheart, Joseph Paul Secchiaroli, to whom she was married for 54 years until his passing in 2006. She was also predeceased by dearest sisters Mary Mattei and Alma DeRosa.
Joe and Anna raised four caring daughters, eventually moving from West Haven to Bolton Connecticut in 1966. Anna and Joe spent most of their married life in Bolton, CT, and fast became beloved members and highly respected elders within the community.
A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother, Anna was a kind, considerate and generous soul, and was adored by all who knew her. She was gracious, refined and meticulous in every way, and took particular pride in her charming home. She was employed by The Travelers for 13 years, and retired in 1991. Anna was also very active in the Bolton Seniors, where she participated in fashion shows and numerous trips with her neighbors and community friends. She gave her love unconditionally and without reservation, and she had a disposition and a tender way about her that could only be described as “angelic.” An exceptional cook, she was very proud of her Italian heritage. She had a passion for music and worked tirelessly to ensure holidays and gatherings were warm and memorable events for her family. Anna was the special glue that held everyone together and she continually demonstrated her love for others in ways that were both big and small. She was always present and she made every event truly special – no matter if it was a birthday, graduation, wedding, a Sunday meal or one of the family’s numerous gatherings. She took enormous pride in her family and also happily indulged her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and took immense pleasure in spending time with all of them.
Anna will be so sorely missed by all who survive her, including daughters Debra and husband John Muro of Guilford, CT; Gwen and husband Peter Soltoski of Manchester CT; Gail Secchiaroli of Manchester, CT; and Jo-Ann and husband Kevin Walton of Fort Myers, FL. She also leaves adored grandchildren: John Muro and wife Erin of Chantilly, VA; Joseph Muro and wife Caitlyn of Glastonbury, CT; Jennifer and husband Shawn Dudzik of Vernon, CT; Michael Muro and wife Reina of Sidney, ME; Jessica Walton of Fort Myers, FL; Marianne Muro of Guilford, CT; Kevin Walton, Jr. and wife Natalie of Fort Myers, FL; as well as eight cherished great grandchildren: Anthony Walton of Fort Myers, FL; Sofia and Juliana Muro of Chantilly, VA; Johanna and Melody Muro of Glastonbury, CT; Camila, Caleb and Curren Muro of Sidney, ME; two step-children Frank and Melissa Pietlock; as well as her beloved nephews John Mattei of Fort Myers, FL and Thomas DeRosa of North Haven, CT and niece Mary DeRosa of Milford, CT.
Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation at the Manchester Funeral Home, 142 E. Center St. Manchester CT from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 17, at 10:00 AM at St Louis Church of Saint John XXIII Parish, 89 Bull Hill Lane, in West Haven, CT. Interment to follow at St Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Avenue, in West Haven, CT.
