William F. Ganzer

William F. Ganzer, 87 of Manchester beloved husband of Janet (Whitehouse) Ganzer passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Bill was born November 19, 1929 in Pontiac, MI son of the late Johnathan Ganzer and Edith (Livingstone) Menard. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving his country during the Korean War and prior to retiring he was employed by the Town of Manchester Water Department for over 20 years. Bill was a member of Uriel Lodge #24 A.F. & A.M. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his four children; Julia A. Nucera and her husband Rick Domina of South Windsor, Chant MacLeod and his wife Karen of Waldwick, NJ, Christopher J. Ganzer of Newington, and Sara L. Ganzer of Manchester, ten loving grandchildren; Emily, Elizabeth, Ethan, Derek, Brennan, Grayson, Alexandra, Caitlin, Derrick and Joshua, along with many beloved family members and friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, James Ganzer and Gerald Menard. Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester from 4-7:30 pm with a Masonic Service to begin at 7 pm. Funeral services will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 6th at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Woodward Cemetery, Ashford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 200 Executive Blvd, Southington, CT 06489-1058 or to a charity of the Donor's Choice.
