William J. Dunn, Jr.

William J. Dunn, Jr., 75, of Columbia, CT passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord on March 21, 2021, by his side, his best friend and wife Phyllis and beloved son Jeffrey Dunn. Bill was a graduate of UConn, his insurance career spanned over three decades. A career agent with NorthWestern Mutual, a member of the Hartford Life Underwriters Association, Board Member of the Hartford Chapter of the Red Cross and the United Way and served as Secretary of the Columbia Lake Association. The quiet man who was larger than life, with a sense of humor to no end and a real teddy bear at heart. He enjoyed his years of golfing and boating amongst his many friends at Columbia Lake and many enjoyable evenings at Mohegan Sun. Bill is predeceased by his parents William and Nancy Dunn, of Pomfret, CT, his brother Michael Dunn of Plymouth, MA and his sister, Patricia Dunn of Colchester, CT. Bill is survived by his brother, Stephen Dunn of North Windham, CT, brother-in-laws Peter Zizzamia of Colchester, and Stuart Kupferschmid of South Carolina. He also leaves his nephews, Jake Dunn, Liam Dunn, Patrick Dunn, and Ethan Dunn, his niece Robin Kupferschmid and her husband Michael Putira of Tolland, CT along with many cousins of the Worcester Clan. Due to the COVID restrictions the family has decided to hold the services on June 11th at 11:00 a.m.. Mass, at St Columba Church, Rt 66 and 87, Columbia, Ct. 06237 A celebration of his life will be held at the home of Phyllis and William Dunn for family and friends immediately following the service.
