Whilda M. (Dulski) Urban, 90 of Manchester, CT, loving wife for sixty years of the late Stanley A. Urban, died at her home on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
She was born in Wyoming, PA on September 27, 1927, the youngest of eight children of Michael and Hedwig (Wierdak) Dulski. Whilda was raised in Pennsylvania and upstate New York and was proud that she was the only one of the eight children to graduate high school. She moved to Manchester in the early 1950's and was a longtime parishioner of St. Bridget Church. After raising her family she was a receptionist at the former Manchester Evening Herald newspaper during the 1980's, a job she enjoyed very much.
Whilda was an avid reader, was devoted to her pet cats, enjoyed knitting, crafting, creating beautiful wreaths, and had an active interest in health and nutrition topics.
She is survived by her four daughters, Eileen M. Copp of Berlin, CT, Marilyn Konefal of Pittsfield, MA, Janice Evans of Delaware, and Lorraine M. Zapatka of Portland, CT; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grand nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by two sons-in-law, Lawrence Konefal and Leonard Copp, and by all seven of her siblings.
A funeral service and burial in St. James Cemetery in Manchester will be private. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the CT. Humane Society (
