Wesley R. Wilson. 72, of Vernon, formerly of Manchester, died suddenly on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Wes was born on August 10, 1944 in Preston, CT son of the late Fremont and Laura Wilson. He was formerly employed with the Charter Oak Service Corporation. Wes was a member of the Connecticut National Guard serving his country from 1961-1967. He was a former member of the Talcottville Congregational Church, Rockville Baptist Church, Faith Baptist Church and the Presbyterian Church of Manchester. He currently was a member and a greeter at Trinity Covenant Church in Manchester. He was a member of the NRA, the National Rifle Association Second Amendment Task Force, NRA/ILA, NRA/PVF, the Law Enforcement Alliance of America and the AARP. Wes is survived by his daughter Terry Valentine of Enfield, his two sons; Wesley Wilson and his wife Patty of Vernon, and David Wilson and his spouse Mark Warren of Bloomfield, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his three brothers; Fremont Jr., Harold and George and his sister Frances Jones. A Memorial service will be held at Trinity Covenant Church, 302 Hackmatack St. Manchester on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 5:00 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Talcottville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
