Warren A. Demartin

Warren A. DeMartin, 85, of Bolton, loving husband of 62 years to Elizabeth (Hannay) DeMartin peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, May 16, 2015. He was born on January 6, 1930 in New Bedford, MA son of the late Richard and Grace DeMartin and had been a resident of Bolton for over 60 years. Warren was a proud veteran of the US Navy serving his country during the Korean War. He began his 37 year career as an Electrician working for HELCO and later CL&P before retiring in 1990 from Northeast Utilities as its Field Analyst. In retirement Warren served as Chairman of Water's Edge Resort & Spa, Time Share Owner's Association for several years and served as an advisor afterwards. Water's Edge was always Warren's home away from home and the people there gave him much joy. Warren was an active member and Deacon Emeritus of the Presbyterian Church of Coventry. He was also a Trustee, Treasurer and former member of the United Methodist Church of Bolton. He was an avid photographer and golfer and was a former member of Manchester CC. and Tallwood CC. In addition to his wife Elizabeth, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Denise and William Volkert of Coventry, his two granddaughters; Laura Volkert of Manchester and Mary Wilson and her husband, Brian and their daughter, Brooke all of Lexington, KY and his nephew, Daniel DeMartin and his wife, Maureen and their family of South Windsor. In addition to his parents, Warren was predeceased by his daughter, Laura Louise DeMartin. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 5-7 pm at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester. Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Presbyterian Church of Coventry, 55 Trowbridge Road, Coventry. Burial with military honors will follow in Quarryville Cemetery, Route 44, Bolton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
