Ward C. Gochee Jr

Ward C. Gochee, Jr., 63, of Manchester, passed away on March 5, 2017. Born April 27, 1953, to Ward and Barbara (Hampson) Gochee, he was affectionately known to his friends as Sonny Jim or just simply Jimmy. He was never happier than in the woods hunting, on the water fishing, spending time at Nickerson Park Campground playing with his eight grandchildren or chatting with just about anyone he came across. Sonny Jim will be missed everyday by his family and friends at the Manchester Ice House. He is survived by his partner of 38 years, Lori Buchanan, his parents, Ward and Barbara, his sisters, Laurie Formaggioni of Columbus, Georgia, her husband Carl, Linda McDowell of Scituate, Massachusetts, her husband John, and his brothers Ronald Gochee, his wife Sue, Mark Gochee, his wife Jennifer, and William Gochee, and his wife Debrorah all of Manchester, CT. Among countless cousins, neices, and nephews, and extended family, Sonny Jim is also survived by his children Todd Gochee and Erica Gochee of Manchester, CT. Robert Gochee, his wife Lynna, of Vernon, CT, and Jamie Gochee, and his wife Kristan of Darien, CT. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
