Virginia G. Perkins

Virginia Grace Neal Perkins, 90, of Manchester, CT, formerly of East Hartford, South Windsor and Exeter, NH passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. She was born January 14, 1926 in Roxbury, MA. Virginia graduated from East Hartford High School in 1944 and was employed by Travelers Insurance Company as a typist where she retired after 33 years. Virginia was a member of the South United Methodist Church and a former member of the South Windsor Senior Center. Virginia loved visiting Exeter, NH, Hampton Beach and Elizabeth Park. She was a nature girl; a true love for animals and all life. Throughout her life she enjoyed: skating, biking, swimming, reading, writing attending plays, playing cards and Scrabble, viewing movies with a great story line and visiting with friends. Virginia traveled across country and to several countries and islands with her family and friend Virginia Ryan. She was predeceased by her father Harold L. Perkins and her mother, Marion N. Perkins and her two close friends, Elsie Whitford and Virginia Ryan. Virginia is survived by family, cousin Robert and Dorothy Balch, their daughter, Linda Langley and her children Ally and Jason of Venice, FL; second daughter, Lorraine Limero and husband, Tom and their children, Rachel McGee, Christopher and Kyle Limero of Houston, TX. She is survived by her God child, Louise Whitford Rivard of Ashford, CT and friends, Leonard Whitford Jr. of Tolland, Jane Mosley of East Hartford, Cynthia Stanek of Coventry, Mary and John Angeli of Manchester, CT. Family and friends may gather for visitation, Friday, Oct. 21 from 5-8 p.m. at Holmes Funeral Home 400 Main St. Manchester, CT. There will be a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. by Rev. John Marshall Jr. The following morning Saturday, Oct. 22, at 11 a.m. there will be a graveside service at the Exeter Cemetery in Exeter, NH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to South United Methodist Church 1226 Main St Manchester, CT 06040.
