Virginia S. Hill

December 4, 1928 — April 30, 2015

Virginia S. (Hansen) Hill, 86, of Vernon and formerly of Manchester and East Windsor, beloved wife of the late William E. Hill, passed away peacefully, Thursday April 30, 2015 with her family at her side. Virginia was born December 4, 1928 in Cleveland, OH, daughter of the late Louis & Helen (Graham) Hansen, but resided most of her life in Connecticut, working at S&H Green Stamps in Manchester from 1963 to her retirement in 1990. Ginny spent many of her leisure hours duck pin bowling and was involved in league play. She, later in life, became an avid bingo player and enjoyed the camaraderie of her many friends. Her love of travel brought her to places such as Arizona, Canada, Alaska, California, and Florida.
She was a member of Community Baptist Church in Manchester, and developed many friendships there.
She is survived by her two sons, David A. Spencer and his wife Lisa of Winter Haven, FL., Donald P. Spencer and his fiance Suzanne Garafano of East Windsor. She also leaves five grandchildren, Stephanie Masone and her husband Gregory of Pearland, TX., Jason Spencer of Providence, RI., Jesse Spencer of Orlando, FL., Nicholas Spencer of West Hartford, James Spencer of Winter Haven, FL. and two great granddaughters, Story Masone, Fable Masone and her daughter-in-law Suzanne, also of Pearland TX. Virginia is also survived by two step children and eight step grandchildren.
Funeral services were private with burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech. Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT. 06067-3045.
