Virginia Mary Gibson

Virginia "Ginny" M. (Fahey) Gibson, 60 of Manchester, CT and Westerly, RI beloved wife of Paul J. Gibson passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 17, 2016 in Westerly. Ginny was born June 11, 1955 in Hartford, daughter of the late Robert C. and Virginia M. (Stiles) Fahey. She was raised in Rockville and graduated from Rockville High School. She continued her education earning her B.A. in 1983 in English and Education from Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic, Graduate studies 15 hours completed in 1987 in Education from Central Connecticut State University and in 1991 her M.A. in Human Development Gerontology and also received the Deliee Award for leadership in gerontology from Saint Joseph College, West Hartford. She has resided in Manchester since 1976 and was currently employed at West Hartford Health & Rehabilitation Center as a Geriatric Social Worker for more than 10 years. Ginny played music all her life and was a member of the Eastern CT University Community Band. In addition to her husband, Paul, she is survived by her daughter, Katie and her partner, Joe Paturzo of Avon, two nephews, Tim and Patrick and lifelong best friends and their families, all of whom she loved as her own family. A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. at East Cemetery (Section P Westminster) 240 East Center Street Manchester, CT 06040. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at Watkins Funeral Home 142 East Center St. Manchester.
