Violet E. Wilson

Violet E. Wilson, 72, of East Hartford and formerly of South Windsor, died Wednesday January 21, 2015 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness. She was born April 1, 1942 in Rockville, beloved daughter of the late Orrin & Beatrice (Abbe) Wilson, was a 1961 Graduate of South Windsor High School and earned her Associates Degree from Manchester Community College. Violet worked as a Secretary with the State of Connecticut for many years and most recently with Superior Energy in Vernon, whom she considered her second family. She was a longtime active member of Rockville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sister Leona D. Wilson of Manchester, two nieces, Sharon Gibson and her husband Jack Coltey and Dawn Vallieres all of Winston-Salem, NC. and several grand nieces and nephews. Other survivors include her best friend, Ginger Ahearn of East Hartford, who was always ready for a day trip as well as many friends at the Senior Citizens Center. Funeral services will be held Monday January 26, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be held in the Windsorville Cemetery.
