Ursula A. (Bischoff) Pottinger, 78, of Vernon, beloved wife of the late Philip A. Pottinger, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 with her family by her side. Ursula was born in Coburg, Germany daughter of the late Alfred & Helene Bischoff. Ursula, affectionately known as "Mutti" to many, moved to Connecticut in 1966. She spent her time raising her family, playing with her dog Moxie, and working with her husband Philip. Ursula enjoyed gardening, loved birds of any kind and was known to be the life of the party while spending time with friends at Shea's in Manchester. Ursula is survived by her two sons; Michael E. Pottinger of Hartford and Stefan E. Pottinger and his wife Pam of Vernon, two loving grandchildren; Erik Pottinger of Boston, MA, and Kayla Pottinger of Vernon. She also leaves her two brothers; Dieter Bischoff and his wife Erika and Uwe Bischoff and his wife Regina all in Germany. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to neighbors Danny Craighill and John Rivers for caring and helping maintain Ursula's home and yard over the past few years. Their kindness is much appreciated by her family. There will be no calling hours and no funeral services per Ursula's wishes. Holmes Funeral Home, Manchester, is in care of arrangements.
