Thomas Pope, 68, of Coventry, formerly of Manchester, passed away Saturday July 29, 2017 after a brief illness.
Tom was born in Hartford November 9th, 1948, son of the late Vincent Popeleski and Shirley (Perrett) Popeleski. He graduated from Manchester High School, Class of 1966, and Bryant University in 1970. He was the former owner and operator of Century 21 Twin Realty in East Hartford and later owner and operator of Liberty Candle Company in Bolton. Tom was active in local politics and was a current member of the Coventry Town Council. He enjoyed kayaking, photography, and all things Cape Cod.
He is survived by his wife, Inge Pope of Coventry; his two sons, Steven Pope and his wife Carla of Milford, MA, and David Pope and his wife Elizabeth of Hudson, MA; their mother, Barbara (Rask) Pope of Tolland; his sister Janet Popeleski of Pittsburgh, PA; his aunt Sandra Dallaire of Lebanon, and a dear friend Kathleen Hartmann of Warwick, RI.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 3, at 11:00 am at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 10 North River Road in Coventry. The Holmes Funeral Home in Manchester has care of arrangements. To leave a message for his family please visit www.holmes-watkinsfuneralhomes.com .
