Thomas M. Davis, 69 of Manchester, formerly of Stafford Springs, loving husband of 25 years to Lisa (Saltamartini) Davis, passed away unexpectedly at home Thursday, January 1, 2015. Thomas was born September 25, 1945 in Anderson, SC, son of the late Lonnie F. and Florence (Whitaker) Davis. He was raised in Stafford Springs and graduated from Stafford High School Class of 1963. Tom proudly served his country from 1965-1967 with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford as a supervisor/foreman after 36 years of service and he continued to keep in touch with his Pratt & Whitney friends. He loved working and making renovations to his family lake house, a place that made him feel at ease. He was a member of the lake association, a former softball player, enjoyed classic cars and was a committee member for his high school class reunion. In addition to his loving wife, Tom is survived by his sons and daughters, Michael T. Davis of Manchester, Kimberly Boulay and her husband, Geoffrey of Stafford Springs, Karen Davis of Newington, Jeffrey T. Davis and his wife, Elizabeth of Manchester, Lindsay Marut and her husband, Jason of Manchester, eight grandchildren, his brothers and sisters, Shirley Geer and her husband, Gordon of Manchester, Lonnie Davis and his wife, Judy of Yulee, FL, Billy Joe Davis and his wife, Susan of Charleston, SC, Liz Adams and her husband, David of Westerly, RI, Roger Davis of Manchester and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Also surviving are two brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law and their families. A prayer service, followed by military honors will be Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 10 am at Holmes Funeral Home 400 Main Street Manchester. Burial will be private. Family and friends may call Tuesday, Jan. 6, from 4-8 pm and Wednesday, Jan. 7 from 9am to 10 am at the funeral home.
