Thomas David Anderson

Thomas "Tommie" D. Anderson, 45, of Willington formerly of Manchester, son of the late Leonard J. Anderson Jr. and the late Judith A. (Runge) Anderson passed away unexpectedly Friday August 22, 2014. Tommie was born February 21, 1969 in Manchester, where he was raised and graduated from Howell Cheney Technical School. He resided in Willington for the past 20 years. He loved working on cars was employed for several years in the family business at Anderson Brothers in Manchester. Tommie became an automotive master mechanic while working at Dillon Ford in Manchester where he was employed for 21 years and mentored other mechanics throughout the years. He was last employed by Girard Ford in Norwich. Tom was an avid outdoorsmen, loved camping, snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle and quad. He is survived by his fiance, Jennifer Gallup of Willington and his two brothers, Leonard J. Anderson III and his wife Martha of Manchester, Kevin M. Anderson and his wife Lucy of Enfield, niece and nephews Taylor Anderson and Joey Anderson of Newington and Brandon Anderson of Manchester, his aunt Barbara Anderson and his uncle David Anderson both of Manchester. His cousin Sharon Torneo and her son Declan of Rocky Hill. He loved his brothers dearly and his family as we love him. We'll miss our little brother, our times together and all the great laughs. Tommie had many, many friends past and present who he loved and they loved him as well. There were so many good times that will never be forgotten. He touched many lives throughout the years. Tommie was an exceptional caring, giving and loving man. He helped everyone that crossed his path. Tommie was a courageous man who never gave up. He loved his pets 3 cats and 2 dogs with all his heart. Tommie will be deeply missed and NEVER forgotten. Memorial calling hours will be Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 5-8 pm at Holmes Funeral Home 400 Main Street Manchester. Burial will be private.
