Theodore R. Beebe Jr

Theodore R. "Ted" Beebe Jr., 85 of Vernon, CT, loving husband, for fifty-nine years, to Charlotte (Lawrence) Beebe, died peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2016.
Ted was born in Manchester on January 23, 1931, son of Theodore R. and Georgiana (Edwards) Beebe Sr., was raised in Manchester, and had been a resident of Vernon for most of his life. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, and prior to retiring in 1992, had been employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 38 years.
Ted loved spending time with family, times at Sid's Camp, playing bingo, and people watching. He also enjoyed watching UCONN Women's basketball and NASCAR racing. In his younger years, Ted was a volunteer firefighter for the town of Vernon, where he met his wife. He was also a member of the Ground Frequency Yankees (GFY) CB Club.
With his wife, Ted is survived by three children, Judy Clark and her husband Coleman, Jeffrey Beebe and his wife Diane, and Joyce Beebe, all of Vernon; four grandchildren Jim Hopkins and his wife Amy, Jay Beebe, Trevor Beebe and his wife Alyssa, and Theodore Keppner, and four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Denise Angell of Granby, Deborah Shaffer of Stafford, Karen Thibeault of FL, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert Beebe of Vernon and Kirk Harding of Illinois and his sister Barbara (Beebe) Curry of Windsor.
A Prayer Service, followed by Words of Remembrance, will be held on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 3:30 PM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester. A visiting time for family and friends is from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill at a later date.
