Sylvia A. Osgood

Sylvia A. Osgood, 82, of Vernon and formerly of Manchester, wife of Benton W. Osgood, Sr., died peacefully, Thursday, October 2, 2014. Sylvia was born September 29, 1932 in Manchester, daughter of the late Edward & Evelyn (Lee) Accomazzo, she attended local schools, was a 1950 Graduate of Manchester High School and earned her Associates Degree from Manchester Community College. Sylvia was a Past President of the Manchester Junior Woman's Club, she enjoyed collecting and repairing antique dolls and was a member of numerous doll clubs. She loved cooking and baking and was famous for her Christmas cookies. She liked having tag sales as well as going to them and looked forward to an occasional trip to Mohegan Sun for dinner and a show. But most of all she loved spending time with family and friends. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Laurie Lee Osgood of Vernon and Benton W. Osgood Jr. also of Vernon, her granddaughter Whitney K. Scott and her husband Brian of Mooresville, NC., and her great granddaughter Brielle Scott. Other survivors include her brothers, Peter Traygis and his wife Diane of Coventry, Steven Traygis of Kentucky, nephew Lee Traygis of Coventry as well as other nieces and nephews. Sylvia also leaves her best friend Joan Yale of Manchester and many other close friends. She was predeceased by her brother Eddie Accomazzo. Funeral services will be held at a later date at Bolton Congregational Church. Burial will be private in the Bolton Center Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
