Suzanne ''Pinky'' Dimlow

February 9, 1943 — November 2, 2016

Suzanne "Pinky" Dimlow, 73, of Melbourne, FL., formerly of Meriden, CT, closed her eyes and received her angel wings, surrounded by her devoted family on Wednesday, November 2nd at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, FL. She cherished her loving husband, Harry Dimlow, her "favorite" daughters, Christine, Charlene, and Claudine, her step sons, Jimmy and Alan, and her grandchildren, Randi, Jenny, Kasia, Tyler, Billy and Henry. Born to William and Arline (Burleigh) Bailey on February 9th, 1943, she adored her siblings, Billy, Marilyn, David, Betty, Gerry, Norma, Donny and Ricky, as well as many nieces and nephews, her doting friend Nancy, and so many dear, sweet friends. She was proud to be a member of Platt High School's Class of 1961. She was an avid seamstress making her own wedding gown as well as gowns for many others. She served for 10 years with the Girl Scouts of America as the head of the Meriden Council, where she was also a Girl Scout leader. She was honored to serve as the President of the Brown Family Reunion. She loved to quilt and made quilts for everyone she held dear. She founded the Heritage Isle Nature Walk through Ritchie Grissom Memorial Wetlands where she introduced people to Florida's wildlife, her favorites being the great blue herons and the alligators. She was a member of the Brevard Zoo where she took great pleasure in the giraffe exhibit. She fought a courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer for almost 10 years, during which time, she volunteered in the chemo room sharing homemade baked goods for Julia's High Tea while encouraging women, young and old, not to let cancer own them. She was not only an inspiration to those in chemotherapy, but to everyone she met. We will mourn the special woman she was. There is no one quite like her. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to William Childs Hospice House, 381 Medplex Parkway, Palm Bay, FL 32907. Calling hours are Friday, Nov. 11th, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St, Manchester, CT.
