Obituary

Stephen Andrew Moorhouse, 69, of Manchester, CT passed away July 27, 2026. He was born August 29, 1956 to the late William and Beatrice (Torrance) Moorhouse. He is survived by his high school sweetheart from geometry class and loving wife of more than 45 years, Deborah, and his devoted children, son Daniel Moorhouse of Manchester, CT and daughter and son-in-law Kathleen and Andrew Denninger of Arlington, MA. He was predeceased by his brother William Moorhouse of Dudley, MA. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Kupchunos, and her husband, Al, of South Windsor, CT; his sister-in-law, Robin Moorhouse, of Dudley, MA; his sister-in-law, Kathleen Guay, and her husband, David, of South Windsor, CT; his sister-in-law, Cynthia Dykstra, and her husband, Steven, of Palmer, MA; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandnieces and grandnephews with whom he shared many cherished memories.

While Steve started his career in printing at DeRosa Printing, he soon transitioned to the automotive industry where he spent more than 30 years as the owner of K-B Automotive in Manchester. He loved helping anyone who walked into the shop with their car, whether it was an old friend or a brand new customer. He always enjoyed getting everyone to try to imitate the noise their vehicle was making that day.

Outside of work, Steve still immersed himself in any hobby with an engine. He relished taking the boat out to fish at Mansfield Hollow, going out on one of his many motorcycles for a ride alongside Daniel, and taking the family out for a Sunday drive in his favorite vehicle, the 1967 Dodge Coronet that he carefully restored from his beloved Aunt Dorothy. Steve also loved to cook and would spend many hours in the kitchen perfecting his sausage grinders, Christmas spoon roast, or his mom’s macaroni and cheese recipe.

Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 8:30am-11am at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, CT 06040 followed immediately by a Memorial Service at 11am till 11:30am.
