Stella (Moske) Phaneuf, 105, of Branford, CT, formerly of Manchester, CT, wife of the late Alfred Phaneuf, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Branford Hills Heath Care Center.
Stella was born in Manchester on November 2, 1911, daughter of Stanley and Mary (Vincek) Moske and was a longtime resident of Manchester before moving to Branford in 2004. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her son, Howard Phaneuf and two of his children, Scott and Laura Phaneuf, four brothers, John, Jacob, Walter, and Brunig Moske, and two sisters, Mary and Bernice Moske.
She is survived by her daughter, Marion (William) Lawton of Branford, two grandsons, Wayne (Mayuree) Lawton of Bangkok, Thailand, and Allan (Katherine) Lawton of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; four granddaughters, Pamela (James) Burgh of East Haven, CT, Wendy (John) Kul of Guilford, CT, Colleen Phaneuf of New Britain, CT, and Julie Pitruzzello and her partner Dwayne Davies of Middlefield, CT; seven great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank the staff on the third floor of Branford Hills Health Center for the excellent care and affection they gave to Stella.
Family and friends are invited to the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester on Wednesday, March 29, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. James Church, 896 Main Street, Manchester. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, 360 Broad Street, Manchester.
