Stanley M. Ozimek, 95, beloved husband of the late Rose M. Ozimek died peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center. He was born on September 21, 1921 in Colchester, one of ten children of the late Joseph and Anna (Rzoszut) Ozimek. Stan was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps serving his country during WW II. He was employed for over 40 years with the former Moriarty Brothers Dealership in Manchester, retiring in 1994 as the Service Director. Stan was later employed with Lynch Toyota in Manchester. He served as past President and was a longtime member of the Hartford Auto Body Association. Stan was a longtime Communicant of St. Bartholomew Church in Manchester. He was a member of the American Legion Post #54 in Colchester and a member of the VFW. He was an avid fan of the New York Mets, as well as the New York Jets, and the UCONN Women's basketball team. He loved spending time at Lake Hayward with family, extended family and friends. Stan is survived by his three sons and two daughters-in-law; David and Anne Ozimek of Simsbury, Thomas Ozimek of Manchester and Philip and Amy Ozimek of Glastonbury, his six loving grandchildren; David Ozimek and his wife Jennifer and their son Joseph Warren Ozimek, Daniel Ozimek and his wife Lauren, Luka Ozimek, Catherine Ozimek, Kayla Mosher and Andrew Mosher. Stan also leaves his sister-in-law Virginia Jensen Ozimek as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to his wife Rose and his parents, he was predeceased by his five sisters and four brothers. Calling hours will be at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 4-7 pm. with a Marine Corps League service at 6:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bartholomew Church, 736 Middle Turnpike East, Manchester on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 11:00 am. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew Church.
