Shirley (Mikoleit) Reggetts, 92, lifelong resident of Manchester, widow of Joseph W. Reggetts, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Shirley was born in Manchester on September 18, 1923, one of nine children of August and Bertha (Wisotske) Mikoleit. She attended Manchester schools and retired from the former office in Manchester of the American Cancer Society after twenty years of service. Shirley has been a member of the Second Congregational Church in Manchester since 1951 and was a member of the Women's Club of Manchester and the AARP.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Harrington and her husband Thomas of Manchester, and Joann Black and her husband Duane of Tacoma, WA; four grandchildren, Kenneth Melluzzo and his wife Lynne of Portland, CT, Kimberly Melluzzo and her significant other Peter Holmes of Marlborough, CT, Jennifer Sablan and her husband Martin of Tacoma, WA, Kristin Ongais and her husband Dan of Tacoma, WA ; seven great-grandchildren, Christopher, Kaleo, Kaleb, Blake, Ariana, Heather and Kevin; three great-grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Caitlynn, and Colin, and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her eight brothers and sisters, and a great-grandchild Kalikiano.
A funeral service will be held Monday, January 25, at 10:00 AM at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester with burial to follow in the East Cemetery in Manchester. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 2 PM to 4 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the DeQuattro Community Cancer Center, 71 Haynes Street, Manchester, CT 06040 or the American Heart Assoc., PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
