Sheila A. (Stevenson) Brown, 65, of Manchester, beloved wife of 37 years to Randall B. Brown
died peacefully on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 after a three year battle with ovarian cancer. Sheila was born on July 17, 1951 in Willimantic, daughter of Helen (Harrington) Stevenson of Manchester and the late Herbert J. Stevenson. She was raised in Manchester, attended local schools and was a graduate of ECHS, Class of 1969. She was a volunteer at Camp Kennedy serving special needs campers. Sheila earned her Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from SCSU. She was employed for over ten years as a Special Education Teacher for the Manchester Board of Education until leaving to raise her family. Sheila was a longtime active member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Manchester serving as a Sunday school teacher, a member of the altar guild, serving on the vestry, and co-coordinator of the Seasonal Sharing ministry. She was an avid fan of UCONN Men's Basketball. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her two children; Randall D. Brown and his wife Amanda and their son Randall P. Brown all of North Branford, and Sarah Tierinni and her husband James and their daughter Maya Tierinni all of Manchester, her three brothers; Herb Stevenson Jr. and his wife Holly of Glastonbury, David Stevenson of Manchester and James Stevenson and his wife Sally Nyhan of Manchester, her mother-in-law Ruth Brown of Vernon, her brother-in-law Thomas Brown and his wife Cindy of Jacksonville, FL and several loving nieces, and nephews. In addition to her father, Sheila was predeceased by her brother Douglas Stevenson and her father-in-law Randall N. Brown. Family and friends are welcome to attend a time of visitation at St. Mary's Episcopal Church 41 Park St. Manchester on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 4-7 pm. Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
