Shane D. Phillips, 44 of Manchester, loving son, father, and brother, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday July 1, 2018.
He was born in Manchester and lived there most of his life. Shane worked with his dad at New England Tree Experts since he was ten years old. He loved trees, and he was proud to have discovered the largest record Scarlet Oak in Connecticut here in Manchester twenty five years ago and saved it from being cut down. He also loved all the local tree guys he became friends with over the years.
Shane's many other interests included gardening, four wheel trucks, dirt biking, and fishing. The most precious time of all to him was doing things with his children whom he so dearly loved. Shane was a wonderful son and a kind, loving, and giving person. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and we look forward to seeing him again.
Shane is survived by his parents, Mark D. Phillips (Renee) of East Hartford and Meg A. Phillips-LaMay (David) of Vernon, and his two beautiful children, Hannah and Liam Phillips and their loving mother Erin Phillips of Groton. He also leaves his sister Laura Phillips of Tolland and her children Brittany, Raymond, and Jonah, his sister Korrin Phillips of Manchester, and his maternal grandmother Edna Hennessey of Manchester, his aunt Linda Hennessey of Manchester, and his aunt Eileen Beaulieu (Gil) of Lebanon and their children Nicole, Ben, and Kelly.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, July 7, from 1 PM to 4 PM at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester with a funeral service to follow at 4 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Manchester Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 214 Bolton Road, Manchester, CT 06040. To leave a message for his family please visit
